Each season for every sanctioned sport, the ACSC recognizes one player from each Varsity team as a member of the Doug Harrison Christian Character Team. Christian Character Team members are high school athletes who by their testimony and their actions have consistently exemplified the highest ideals of Christian character and leadership. Each player is selected by using the following criteria statements as a guideline:· He/she accepts their God-given gift of athletic ability and works to maximize that potential by giving 100% at practice and in competition.· He/she consistently demonstrates a Christian example in moral maturity and a spirit of good sportsmanship.· He/she provides Christian leadership both in and out of the athletic arena in their home, church, and community. He/she has earned the respect of his teammates and members of the opposing teams through his/her dependability, work ethic, and willingness to make personal sacrifices for the good of the team. He/she attends church regularly and becomes involved in ministry opportunities. The award was originally named the ACSC Christian Character Award until 2022. It was renamed in honor of the ACSC First Commissioner, Doug Harrison.
